We Outside ya'll!
Come join us.

We're spending the year slow-traveling Latin America, from Bogotá to Mexico City. This page tracks where we'll be — so you can pick a stop, book a flight, and come hang out with us for a few days (or more!).

Currently in: Bogotá, Colombia · through Oct 1
The Route

The plan, loosely held

The route is Bogotá → Panama → Guatemala → Mexico City, with roughly 90 days settled into a home base in each country and shorter trips branching out from there. This is an open invitation to join us anywhere along the timeline below.

COL
Jul 10 – Oct 1, 2026

Colombia

We're based in Santa Bárbara, Bogotá until Oct 1. You're invited to stay in the spare bedroom in our Airbnb or find a place nearby.

If you'd like to only join us for the short trips below, feel free to stay longer than us to really get the most from you travels (stay after we leave, or come before arrive). We're planning short weekend trips because the twins have day care.

Villa de Leyva

A long weekend in one of Colombia's prettiest colonial towns — whitewashed streets, one enormous stone plaza, and easy day trips into the surrounding desert.

Cartagena Weekend

Walled city, warm water, and the kind of humidity that means every plan starts after 4pm. Dates are still firming up on our end — ask before booking flights.

Chantl's Solo Bali Trip

Not a family stop — just and FYI that Chantl is heading to Bali on her own for a Retreat, with a few buffer days on either side. Don't feel too bad for the twins and Alex. The kids will be in daycare from 8 am to 5 pm.

just an FYI
PAN
Oct 1 – Dec 30, 2026

Panama

Our home base will be El Cangrejo, a walkable residential neighborhood in Panama City right by Vía Argentina, Parque Urracá, and Parque Omar. This is the longest we'll be settled in one place, so it's an easy one to build a longer visit around. We'll likely have a two bedroom place so unlike Bogota, you would need your own space.

Coronado

Pacific beach corridor about an hour from the city — beach time without the crowds, golf, and an easy add-on day trip to El Valle de Antón's hot springs and Sunday artisan market.

Jamaica

With our home base still in Panama, we're making a stop in Jamaica to celebrate Siatta's birthday. If you haven't met Chantl's aunt Siatta, you're welcome to come say hello while enjoying Jamaica with us!

Siatta's 50th Birthday Party

Montego Bay, Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach — we're celebrating Siatta's 50th with her, her family, and our own crew all together for the week, alongside kid-friendly pools, snorkeling, catamaran cruises, and Dunn's River Falls. This is the one we'd most love a full house for.

Dec 30, 2026 – Mar 24, 2027

Guatemala

Home base is Antigua — colonial streets, volcano views, and (per the plan) some of the best weather of the whole trip, clear and dry with cool nights. 3BR homes here run $900–1,500/month, so there's likely room for guests nearby even if our place is full.

Chantl's Solo Nicaragua Trip

Not a family stop — just and FYI that Chantl is heading to Nicaragua on her own for another Retreat at the Costa Dulce Wellness Resort. Kids and Dad hold down the fort while she's out.

Lake Atitlán

About 2–2.5 hours from Antigua — boat rides between lake villages, kayaking, the Indian Nose sunrise hike, and (in February) peak coffee harvest tours. Worth a full week if you want more than one village.

Guatemala City + Day Trips

About 45 minutes from Antigua — Parque Ecológico Cayalá, the Popol Vuh and Ixchel museums, and the zoo. Good jumping-off point for Iximché ruins, or a longer week flying to Tikal.

Mar 24 – Jun 22, 2027

Mexico

Trip finale, home base in Mexico City (Condesa/Roma Norte) — mild, spring-like weather nearly year-round and the easiest airport of the whole trip for flying home. 3BR rentals here run $1,500–1,800/month. We'll fly home straight from here in late June.
